Built by people
who build.
FIELD // LAB comes from the perspective of a space-company founder.
A founder's perspective.
Jack Al-Kahwati, founder of StarDrive, a space company, is developing clothing and carry systems for technical people whose work takes them beyond a desk.
That background shapes the questions behind FIELD // LAB. Where should a device pocket sit when you're seated? Can your technology kit move between bags without being unpacked? Can you replace a worn component instead of the entire product?
Made for life here.
FIELD // LAB is our attempt to answer those questions. The focus is everyday usefulness: clothing you can work in and bags that make room for the technology you carry.
EARTH and MARS are two environments for the same proposed system. MARS draws on expedition colors and mineral landscapes. It does not mean the products are designed or rated for spaceflight.
Still on the drawing board.
The collection is currently in development. Specialist apparel and carry expertise is needed to turn the concepts into patterns and prototypes. Fit, materials and construction will need testing before we make performance claims.
Through Drop 001 preorders, we intend to make the first collection with the people who will use it: nothing goes to the factory until enough people preorder. We'll share the process, including what changes along the way.
Preorders are not open yet and no payments are accepted. Join the preorder list to get first access when they open. The images show concepts rather than finished inventory.
